Walking the line between nerd and cool.

Last year, we started off the Crossroads year with what we hope will become a fun tradition in Crossroads: The Amazing Event series.  The first year was Amazing Space.  This year:

Amazing Chase

We’re going to look at David, the man who chased after God’s own heart:

And when he had removed him, he raised up David to be their king, of whom he testified and said, ‘I have found in David the son of Jesse a man after my heart, who will do all my will.’  Acts 13:22

Two other churches are joining with us to plan the event, and it will feature a concert with Relevant Worship on Friday night that is free and open to the public, thanks to some funding from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.  Some highlights of the event:

  • A free-will offering at the concert, plus supplies brought by students will be donated to Urban Christian Ministries of Buffalo.
  • Some youth from the inner city are expected to participate in the lock-in through UCM-Buffalo.
  • The Lock-in introduces our first Sunday School topic on David.

Should be a good time.  Mark your calendars for September 5 @ 7 p.m. for the Lock-in start, or 8 p.m. for the concert.  Tickets are required for entry and are available for free from the church office or Life Resources.
