An Added Touch

Paige, a college friend of ours, was in town visiting her sister Nicole, who serves as the DCE at St. John’s in Orchard Park.  We got together last night for dinner down there.  We ended up at Ilio DiPaolo’s for some great Italian food.  I had the Seafood Chipotle after Jaime jokingly suggested it because I like Chipotle burritos.  It was a mix of scallops, shrimp, crab, green onion and mushrooms over linguini with a white clam sauce.  Seriously, it could have been the best Italian food I’ve ever had.

We hung around for a while in the outdoor courtyard where we ate after dinner catching up on life.  While we were chatting, one of the DiPaolo’s came up and started talking with us, telling us about how the courtyard was modeled after the street his father grew up on in Italy, with the walls painted to match the view from where we were sitting.  He ended up giving us some Limoncello for free.  Way too strong for my tastes, but very cool nonetheless.

I probably would have been willing to go back for dinner again without the freebie at the end, but that sealed the deal.  Sometimes it’s that added touch, above what you expect, that gets you to come back for more.  What’s the “added touch” at First Trinity that people aren’t expecting to receive but do when they visit us?

Fun Surprise

I’m currently sitting in our hotel room, but when you see this I’ll already be on the beach in the Outer Banks.  (Special announcement: My nephew is next to me and says hi to all the blog readers out there!)

For dinner last night, most of the gang had pizza from Vinny’s.  I had something much more delicious.
