Live sporting events broadcast live on the Internet is great. I don’t have ESPN, so I tuned in to usopen.com and watched Tiger win his 14th Major. I was OK with either he or Rocco winning, so it was just fun to watch it come down to sudden-death overtime.

I played in the Seminary Golf Tournament yesterday. I love playing in fundraiser tournaments because you use scramble rules. That means everyone shoots from the same spot every shot. You take the best of the 4 balls and everyone moves there for the next shot. I golfed with Bruce and Bill from church and John, [...]

I went out golfing for the first time this season. That’s one more time than I did last season. Yay me! My drive has improved as I hit 7 of 9 fairways, up from my usual 3 of 9 (on a good day). I even hit 2 of the fairways with my driver and kept [...]

Grady Sizemore, the Indians‘ center fielder, holds the current streak for consecutive starts in baseball with 360. That means that sometime in 2022, if all goes well, he’ll break Cal Ripken’s streak of 2632 consecutive starts. Cal did it all with one team over a span of about 20 years. I’m hoping [...]

To conclude our whirlwind of visits that started last Saturday, my Mom is now in town visiting. We went to the golf dome today to hit some balls, my first time out this season. As it turns out, it was demo day there, so there were tons of people. We managed to find an open [...]

If so (or even if you don’t), join the First Trinity (and friends) Tournament Pick ‘em. You’ll need a Yahoo account to play. The Super Bowl is finally here. Tonight we get to see history as the Patriots go for the perfect season against the Giants. We won’t be seeing it, however, at church this year. We aren’t having our youth Super Bowl party this year, mostly due to a conflict of scheduling with all [...]

The NFL Network has decided to simulcast the Patriots-Giants game this Saturday on NBC and CBS in addition to the NFL Network. The game is important because the Patriots are going for a perfect season, something not done since the 1972 Dolphins, who went 14-0. The Patriots would be the first to go [...]

I lost fantasy football playoff match this past weekend thanks to poor performances from of my best scorers. Tom Brady scored 3 points for me, down from an average of 25 this season. Kellen Winslow gave me 2 points, down from 10. Marshawn Lynch of the hometown Bills gave me 8 points, [...]

The George Mitchell Report into steroid and other drug use has been released to the world. As expected, upwards of 70 players were named in the report as having taken performance enhancing drugs. Included are Roger Clemens, Andy Pettitte, Barry Bonds, Migeul Tejada and more. These are big names, not utility infielders. Most disturbing is [...]
