Yesterday, I wrote about how we’ve got some groups staying at our church this year while they travel to/from their Mission Trips. It got me to thinking… What if we had a packet of information for groups coming to our area?
We’d have information about our facility, directions, etc. But I think it could be helpful to have information about what there is to do in the area and tips for doing it. Some of the things that we might include:
- Niagara Falls Info (where to park, what to see, rough prices, etc.)
- Niagara Jet Boat Tours
- Area Malls/Movie Theaters
- Area Parks/Waterfalls
- Restaurants Near First Trinity, highlighting “local” flavor like Ted’s, Anderson’s, Mayback’s, etc.
So what would you include in the packet? What is there to do in our area that a youth group might enjoy?

Great question. Maybe we could leave something like a stuffed Buffalo with First Trinity stitched on it. They could take it home as a memento.
Perhaps a local map of the area, and maybe a coupon from a local restaurant that offers Buffalo wings.
You could also list local fun spots like Lazertron or AJ’s.
Pastor beat met me to LaserTron! Geocaching, frisbee golf, Shakespeare in the Park (free), festivals every week in the summer somewhere, don’t forget Old Man River & Mississippi Mudd’s along Niawanda Park and the river in NT.
I think a top ten list of the funniest names in Buffalo and where they are, like Cheektowaga, Scajacuada, etc.
Great ideas everyone!
Lots have been covered. Could add the phone number for the Bisons if they wanted to grab a ball game (for little $$) if they are in town.
Maybe putt-putt? The indoor one in the dome and the outdoor one on Sheridan?
Maybe the Miss Buffalo boat ride if time permits.. They run afternoons and evenings.
Oh, dont forget the Naval Park and the rennovated Eire Canal right next door.
