What I’ve Been Reading
I read lots of different blogs on a regular basis. Here are a few posts I found interesting in the last week or so:
- Modern music has some questionable lyrics. Of course, kids don’t listen to the lyrics [purple text is internet denotation for sarcasm] so it’s not a big deal…
- Online books from PDF documents. Could be good for our revamped Tidings Newsletter. Post it online like a book that people can browse!
- Google Docs takes on Zoomerang, adding survey-like data collection right into a spreadsheet. Sue pointed this out to me first.
- Target has secret sales on a regular basis. I like Mondays and Wednesdays.
- Mario Kart coming to the Wii. Perhaps one of my favorite games of all time, it’s finally starting to make news about arriving on the Wii. It’s slated to hit Japan on April 10th. Hopefully it won’t take long to get it here.
- Check out the front page of newspapers from all around the country and world. Fun to flip around and see what’s happening, what papers find important, etc.
- Find a place to meet between two places. Enter the two cities/addresses and let Mezzoman find things to do in between the two locations. Great for planning the Buffalo/Cleveland get-togethers we do in the summer.
I always learn something in your blog. Now I have learned a lot, but the most helpful is purple for sarcasm. I didn’t know that. Very cool.

I was looking for a webpage that explains why purple is sarcasm, but there doesn’t seem to be a good one. It just shows up when people get angry at someone else and they have to explain that the purple text was sarcasm.

You are showing your nerd/geeky side today, Jason! I love it – some great stuff for my job! Love, T.
P.S. I am also wondering how PC is going to get that purple color into his verbal sermon…maybe it will be reserved for his email messages.

We could designate someone to hold a big piece of purple paper when he wants to use sarcasm. Maybe the acolyte can do that in addition to the candles.

Ooh, what about a purple spotlight? That’d be cool.
